"Alley Cat Puck Control" provides a challenging route for young players. The next player begins once the first player reaches the first cone which creates significant repetition opportunity and proper work to rest ratios. Coaches should demo the route for the players. Progressions are:

1. Basic Carry

2. Pivots

3. One Handed Carry.

Finish each sequence with a shot on goal in the far lane.

Teaching Points

Puck Control Skills: Soft hands and use of both sides of the stick blade. Avoid over stick-handling and encourage players to cradle the puck. As players improve attempt to increase speed.
