Bubblegum Stretch

"BubbleGum Stretch" is a tempo, timing and passing drill. On the whistle two players leave from diagonal sides with no pucks. They accelerate down the blue line and around the cone. They receive a pass from the diagonal line and one touch it back. Players then continue to skate along the blue line and receive a stretch pass from their initial line. On the whistle the next two players begin.


Teaching Points

Giver: Lead the passer with anticipation and move the puck to where their teammate is going to be, adjust velocity of the pass based upon where the receiver is, make eye contact with the receiver.

Receiver: It is not a race, time your skating to create a good pass angle to receive the puck, call for the puck with your voice.
