"Bumble Bee Attack", links together puck-handling, net attacks and mental focus for young players. Three to five players chaos in a circle while handling the puck. The coach yells out the name of a player who then immediately attacks the goaltender. After the shot, the player skates to the puck pile and retrieves a puck prior to returning to the chaos circle. The coach continues to call out players names in about 10 second intervals. If the coaches see players tiring they can provide short rest breaks and deliver feedback during this rest opportunity.

Teaching Points

Puck handling: Head is up and on a swivel. Players read open ice and attempt to avoid traffic.

Net Attack: Attack on different angles and attempt to perform the skill at top speed. Be creative in attacks and attempt new moves.
