Three Quarter Ice Basketball
"Three Quarter Ice Basketball" develops attack and defend skills on transition and entry. If you only have one goaltender for practice this drill is fabulous. On the coaches dump in the first team that touches the puck attempt to score. The defending team must secure puck control and in order to go on offence exit the zone, transition and attack. Coaches must be diligent in enforcing off-sides which will instil proper habits in players. Shift length should be 40 seconds and on the whistle players are to back check all the way to the lines.
