"Nasty Nine Shot", is a station which allows players to work on all types of shots. Players shoot nine pucks prior to rotating with their partners. Depending on handedness, players line up on the left or right side of the pucks. Players should always shoot the row closest to the net first and work their way back to the third row. Coaches can provide direction as to the types of shots to take, and the areas of the net to attempt to hit.

Teaching Points

Shooting: Release the puck from the toe area of the stick (last 1/3 of the blade). Press the top hand away from the body to set the proper stick angle allowing for maximum power. Release from the front of the body and not the side.
