"Texas Star Shot", focuses on the "in-tight" net attacks and scoring skills with effective footwork and agility. Six pucks are placed on both sides and net front. As quickly as possible, the player retrieves each puck and attacks the net. After a quick attack the player returns to the boards as quickly as possible, taps his stick against the boards and then retrieves the next puck.

Teaching Points

Skating: Utilize open pivots (heal to heal), attempt to be light on feet and stay on the mid part of the blade (Zone #2 and Zone#3 - Maloney Skate Index).

Puck Handling: Use creative blade fakes and width in puck handling to maximize range and width while forcing the goaltender to move.
